On Pingipung Mister Tingle is known for smooth and upfront Electronica. As a producer he’s still down with the sound: Just listen to his cut-up-remix for the School Of Zuversicht remix-album, available in mid-november. But as a dancer in recent years he fell in love with Swing and adjacent styles like Lindy-Hop or Balboa. In this podcast, named after a famous Jazz standard, he compiled lots of old Jazz and Swing recordings, mostly from the 30ies and 40ies. Bad luck that this is no video-podcast-series, we would love to see Mister Tingle dance to this awesome selection.
Helena Hauff is an up and coming DJ from our Homebase Hamburg where she often plays astonishing sets at the Golden Pudel Club. Her sound can’t be nailed down easily as she wanders between styles as light-footed as other people change their clothes. Here Helena Hauff provides us a real autumn beauty, blossoming between Folk, Jazz and some styles we haven’t even heard of.
This is a premiere. It’s the first podcast in our series that’s not mixed by an artist or DJ, but by another label owner. And that means it’s a special one. Our spiritual brother Jan Sturm, who runs the Aerotone-netlabel, compiled quiet music for autumn evenings, sometimes melodramatic and focussed, sometimes just floating like a leaf on water. Olde Warp is the ancient name of the town in East Germany, where he grew up. In the coming months Jan Sturm plans to record an album under that monker with lots of field recordings.
